HELP WITHOUT THE GUESSWORK

FAQs

Straight answers about inputs, estimates, privacy and taking your plan away.

Is Civic Magazine an official service?

No. It is an independent personal planning website, not a government service, grant portal or official record system. The issue planner is only a private working sheet; it does not send a complaint or create an official case.

Are the six tools free, and do I need an account?

All six planners are free to use with no sign-up. The tools do not ask for an account, password or payment information. Ordinary internet or printing costs from your own providers are outside the site’s control.

Where do the facts and estimates come from?

Every planning input comes from you. The tools arrange your text and apply the formulas shown on the relevant page. They do not fetch live prices, rates, maps, opening hours, availability, records or other live data.

Does the site keep my plan?

The planning code keeps the current inputs and result only in the active page’s memory; it does not send them to a server or save them in local storage. Reloading or leaving the page loses the generated result. Some browsers can independently restore form values.

Can I print or save a PDF?

After building a result, choose Print / Save PDF. The print layout includes the plan and method rather than the form or site menus. Choose a PDF destination in the browser’s print dialog if your browser supports it. Inspect the print preview before saving.

What does Download text include?

It creates a UTF-8 plain-text file with the current generated plan, relevant calculation method. It does not upload a copy. Store or delete the file on your device, and review it before sending it to someone else.

Why are some fields not in my result?

Blank optional fields are deliberately omitted. Empty lines in lists are ignored. Required fields and invalid number or date combinations must be corrected before a result is generated. No missing real-world facts are filled in automatically.

What happens if I type markup or code?

User text is displayed literally as text, not interpreted as HTML. For example, angle brackets stay visible rather than creating an element. Downloads also contain plain text. Avoid entering sensitive details even though the tools do not submit them.

Can the event or meeting planner reserve a place?

No. Dates and times make a proposed schedule only. The site does not contact a venue, confirm availability, check permissions, send invites or validate a booking. Verify arrangements directly through a genuine channel you choose.

How should I interpret volunteer capacity or budget shares?

Capacity assumes the people, shifts and workload you entered are realistic and comparable. Budget shares are simple allocations, not quotes or financial recommendations. Rounding may affect displayed shares. Allow your own margin for uncertainty and verify actual costs and practical constraints.

Will a review date create a notification?

No. Review dates, event dates and publication dates are labels in your plan. The website does not monitor them or schedule reminders. If needed, transfer a date into your own calendar and review its privacy settings.

Can I use these tools offline or on a phone?

The layouts are responsive and support modern phone and desktop browsers with JavaScript enabled. Once a page has loaded, calculations do not need a network request, but offline reopening is not guaranteed. The standalone HTML preview can run locally. Print and download behaviour depends on your browser.

How do I clear a plan?

Use Clear all on the tool page to reset inputs and remove the current result. This cannot delete a file you already downloaded, a print queue, a screenshot or a copy shared elsewhere. Clear those copies using the relevant device or service controls.

Do you send newsletters or collect subscribers?

No. The newsletter planner produces an outline with word allocations. It does not collect an email list, create finished articles, publish content or send messages. You remain responsible for factual checks, permissions and any later distribution.
